Book Swap

The first Book Swap of the school year at Mechanics Grove Elementary School was a huge success with a room full of eager readers looking to exchange one title for another favorite author.

Mechanics Grove encourages its students in grades 3 to 5 to swap a book they’ve read at home for one in the exchange library. On the first Friday of the month, students are invited to visit the Book Swap and trade one book for another book. “Our goal at Mechanics Grove is to try to fill all of our students’ bedrooms with as many books as possible,” explained Mrs. Fergus.

If families have extra books their children no longer read and would like to donate them to the Book Swap, please contact Lisa Green at lgreen@d75.org or Heather Magrow at hlmagrow@gmail.com. Mechanics Grove seeks chapter books for students in grades 3 to 5, as well as nonfiction books on everything from science to animals in English or Spanish.
