The students helped create the special T-shirts they wore, sang a song about King, played a game recreating the March on Washington, shared their dreams for the world, and enjoyed delicious ice cream.
Hugo has been holding this birthday party for King for almost her entire 31-year teaching career. "Being a kindergarten teacher is all about planting seeds for future learning, she said. “I hope I've cultivated respect for diversity, for real true heroes, and for speaking up against injustice. I also hope that other teachers are sharing the same message across America."
