See article from 2016 in the Daily Herald. The results revealed a few faucets with noticeable traces of lead, but well below the 15 parts per billion considered a health risk by the Centers for Disease Control. Nonetheless, those fountains were immediately replaced.
District 75 just completed a second round of testing. The results received last week showed three drinking fountains and three bathroom sinks with slightly elevated amounts of lead. Again, the amounts were well-below the 15 parts per billion.
Though there is no requirement to take action at the lead levels discovered, District 75 immediately replaced the water faucets and shut down the fountains. When new fountains arrive next week (February 7, 2018), they will be installed. The three fountains are located at Mechanics Grove outside the gymnasium and at Lincoln at the end of the main downstairs hallway. The four faucets are located at MG in the boys bathroom across from Room 2 and at Washington in the boys bathroom at the end of the main hallway.
