Help Mundelein School District 75 Save Lives by Donating Blood!

On Tuesday February 19th, Mundelein School District 75 will be hosting a Community Blood Drive at the District Office.

The blood drive is to honor our kind-hearted colleague and Kindergarten teacher, Kristen Meister, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in August 2018. In late November, Kristen’s CT scans showed that her cancer was gone to minimally visible in just three months!

Substitute Teacher Job Fair

Mundelein School District 75 is looking for qualified substitute teachers to fill daily and long-term classroom teacher absence needs. A Substitute Teacher Job Fair will be held on Friday, January 18th, at the District Office, 470 N. Lake St., from 1pm to 3pm.

Mundelein District 75 STEAM Foundation’s 3rd Annual Pizza Throwdown

Mundelein School District 75’s STEAM Foundation Is hosting it’s 3rd Annual Pizza Throwdown. This family friendly event will serve a variety of pizza from Mundelein’s local pizza joints, such as Bill’s, Giordano’s, Jimano’s, and other pizzerias who will all battle it out by being voted for the Best Sauce, Best Crust, Kids Choice, Best Speciality, and Best Overall Pizza.

"With our past two Pizza Throw Downs combined, the foundation has raised over $6,000 for student STEAM experiences! This includes a combined $4,000 dollars towards the Carl Sandburg Middle School musicals," said Dan Swartz, Director of Teaching and Learning.

Culminating their fall season, Mundelein School District 75‘s fourth and fifth grade LEGO Robotics team, known as the Mechanics Grove DREAM Team, will competed Saturday, December 1st, from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Carl Sandburg Middle School. This competitive robotics team was up against several Lake County teams, as well as other teams from around the state, in the competition titled First LEGO League Mundelein Robotics Qualifier 2018. The DREAM Team aspired to shine as they were judged on robot design, programming skills, problem-solving, research, invention and teamwork in challenges involving this year’s overall theme of “space.”

Blasts of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) recently worked its way through Mechanics Grove classrooms from December 3rd-7th. The first ever STEAM Week, organized by an MG teacher team and led by Project Challenge Coordinator Tony Cho, was a huge success!
