Red Ribbon Week in District 75!

Every teacher in District 75 is committed to helping students grow. Each educator works endlessly so that students can truly glow. But how many teachers do you know who take “glowing” literally? With a few sheets of black paper, a blacklight, and 47 sets of glow stick glasses, second grade teacher Diane Bischoff successfully hosted Glow Day, having transformed her room into a neon wonderland all for the purpose of increasing student engagement in learning.

In-School Flu Vaccination

The cold and flu season is approaching us. To prevent widespread flu in our schools, we have collaborated with Advocate Children’s Hospital to offer free influenza or “flu” vaccinations during the school day to students who qualify for medicaid or who are uninsured.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile clinic will be at the following schools and times:
Carl Sandburg Middle School- Tuesday, November 6 at 9:30AM
Washington Early Learning Center- Wednesday, November 7 at 9:30AM
Mechanic’s Grove Elementary School- Thursday November 8 at 9:30AM

Merrily We Roll Along – to Camp Duncan!

Early morning, on Thursday, September 27th busses were loaded with almost the entire one hundred and eighty-two fifth grade students of Mechanics Grove School. Traveling about eleven miles northwest to YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingelside, Illinois, the seats were filled with sleeping bags, bug spray, marshmallows, teachers, parent chaperones, and the extremely fired-up students!

CSMS Band Pasta Dinner Fundraiser- October 24th

The Carl Sandburg Middle School Band Department invites you to their 2nd Annual Pasta Dinner Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 24th. Dining hours run between 5:30-7:30 pm in the Multi Purpose Room at CSMS (855 West Hawley Street- Mundelein). Tickets are $12 at the door. Additionally, Dippin’ Dots will be available for $4 for dessert!

Love your school? Want to show it? Whether you’re living the Tiger C.O.D.E. at Carl Sandburg, leading the P.A.C.K. at Mechanics Grove, or showing Eagle Pride at Washington, we’ve got spiritwear for you! T-shirts and dry-fit shirts can be worn any time of year, while sweatshirts, hoodies, flannel pants, and blankets will keep you warm all winter long. School-specific cinch bags as well as D75 wristbands and magnets are also available for purchase. Colors vary by school: red for CSMS, blue for MG, and green for Washington. Mark your calendars for Friday, September 7! Join the Mundelein School District 75 Administration, School Board Members and Parent Teacher Organization for its annual Brat Fest from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Carl Sandburg Middle School, 855 W. Hawley Street. A complete meal deal is $5 and includes a brat, hot dog or tamale; roasted corn on the cob; chips; and soda or water. Items may be purchased separately as well.

In addition to food, the event will feature many family fun activities such as face painting, carnival games, a bounce house and obstacle course. Activities are $1 each.

Proceeds go to the District 75 PTO.
